CELEBRATING THE MOST COLOURFUL TIME OF THE YEAR

Rocco Forte Hotels

The centre of Brussels will come alive with colour this summer, thanks to The Flower Carpet. Over 500,000 flowers—spread over 1,800 m2 in the city’s famed Grand-Place—will be used to create an artistic “carpet” of begonias, dahlias, grass and bark. Fragrant and fabulous, the Flower Carpet is one of the highlights of the season in Brussels, and is best enjoyed from Hotel Amigo, mere steps from the Grand-Place.

This year, Hotel Amigo is partnering with the organic Belgian florist, haut les coeurs and local jeweller, Les Précieuses to offer a unique, unmissable floral experience for guests. Les Précieuses has handcrafted an exclusive, limited edition floral brooch for the occasion, and haut les coeurs will be creating gorgeous bouquets for guests, made with local organic flowers.

Hotel Amigo will also arrange for its guests to view the Flower Carpet from the best seats in town—the balcony of City Hall. Other than walking amongst the petals, breathing in the scents of begonias, this is the perfect place to take in the intricate display, which has been two years in the planning.

The first “Flower Carpet” took place in 1971 and has returned to the Grand-Place every two years since 1986. This year, the design is inspired by the Mexican region of Guanajuato, which has a particularly rich flower tradition, and will be arranged by over a hundred volunteers in less than eight hours.

At night, the Flower Carpet will be accompanied by a live concert and light show. Once back at the Hotel Amigo, guests can enjoy a special floral-inspired cocktail crafted by head barman, Filippo, before enjoying a 3-course menu designed by Fulvio Pierangelini and Chef Igor Rosi, at Hotel Amigo’s Bocconi restaurant.

The Floral Experience package, available to book from 15th-30th August 2018, starts at €397 and includes:

Accommodation for two in a Deluxe Room for two nights

One ticket per person for the Flower Carpet balcony view

Buffet breakfast for two at Ristorante BoCConi

An elegant in-room flower arrangement and lovely brooch
