If the Shoe Fits

Aquazzura at Brown’s Hotel, London

“You can wear a beautiful black dress that you've maybe had for years, but if you wear a fun shoe, you can completely change it. Wear something different, something sexy, something strappy, or something with pom poms,” explains expert shoe designer Edgardo Osorio, founder of renowned shoe brand, Aquazzura.

Elegant, stylish and alluring are all words that describe Aquazzura’s immaculate stilettos. The brand has also garnered a reputation for its colourful heels, and strappy pumps like those donned by Meghan Markle during the announcement of her engagement to Prince Harry.

Established in 2011 by Colombian-born Osorio, Aquazzura quickly joined ranks with the world’s top footwear brands. The label has flagships around the world, from Moscow and Dubai to New York, Miami and Las Vegas in the US.

The shoes, which are made over 10 months in a factory in Florence, have gained a reputation for being comfortable and beautiful, moulding to the foot like a Cinderella slipper.

The model Claudia Schiffer is also a fan. “It has to look great and it has to be super comfortable,” she told the Los Angeles Times. “I never want to suffer in great shoes and all of Edgardo’s shoes are super comfortable, even the high ones.”

One of Osorio’s tricks involves evenly dividing the way a woman’s weight is distributed between the front and the back of the shoes.

The high heel maestro has revolutionised footwear by making stylish shoes that enhance women's natural beauty. Osorio told W magazine, “What’s missing today in fashion is simply beautiful things.”

If shoes are your Achilles’ heel, then you’ll be thrilled to discover that we’ve teamed up with Aquazzura to offer a new experience which features goodies designed by the Italian footwear brand. Aquazurra will be celebrating 10 years in 2022, which coincides with a year-long celebration of Brown’s Hotel’s 185th anniversary.

As part of our new Head over Heels experience, when you stay with us at Brown’s Hotel in London you’ll receive an Aquazzura gift bag brimming with treats, including a complimentary pedicure to scrub and smooth your feet in our wellness sanctuary, The Spa at Brown’s. Then, when night falls, you’ll be taken on a short stroll to Albemarle Street in Mayfair to enjoy a private, after-hours visit to Aquazzura’s flagship store. The neighbourhood is also home to the art gallery Mazzoleni and the boutique Alexander Wang.

As our guest, you’ll be greeted with Champagne and a special 20% discount on purchases. Alternatively, we can arrange a bespoke in-suite shoe fitting with one of Aquazzura’s expert artisans.

Once you’ve made your purchase, step inside Donovan Bar and order a Tequila Scandal, a limited edition Champagne, tequila and pineapple juice cocktail our maestro, Salvatore Calabrese, created in celebration of Osorio’s sensational designs.

Continue the experience with complimentary cocktails in the bar’s naughty corner, so-called because it is surrounded by Sir Terence Donovan’s tastefully provocative photography. Alternatively, enjoy them in the comfort and privacy of your suite.

Donovan Bar will showcase Aquazzura footwear including the Tequila Plexi Sandal 105, Temptation Crystal Sandal 105 and Seduction Crystal Pump 105 until April 2022.

Our concierge team can also help purchase tickets to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, Cinderella, at Gillian Lynne Theatre, a short taxi ride from Brown’s Hotel.
