WHAT’S COOKING AT IRENE BISTRO WITH FULVIO PIERANGELINI

Irene is Florence’s ultimate destination to savour sublime Tuscan cuisine and tantalising cocktails infused with homegrown flavours. With a playful spirit and vibrant dishes, the stylish bistro makes the perfect spot to unwind with friends and family. Dining al fresco at Irene’s chic terrace on the Piazza della Repubblica surrounded by centuries of Renaissance architecture is a truly unforgettable experience.

In collaboration with Laudomia Pucci, Director of Design Olga Polizzi has reimagined the glamorous terrace, incorporating the iconic elements of the design house. Beautiful silk scarves are carefully encased in glass table tops, while benches exude warm Mediterranean colours. The result is timelessly glamorous and resolutely Tuscan.

To dine at Irene is to tease your senses with the aromas and tastes of Tuscany. Authentic produce and innovative cooking combine to create irresistible interpretations of traditional classics. “Sundays are an important day at Irene, and are best spent here with family and friends”, advises Fulvio Pierangelini, Rocco Forte Hotels Director of Food. “We’ve created a spectacular menu around the Italian classic, meatballs. Guests can choose from a tempting array of meatball styles – from classic and traditional to vegetables and fish, even Oriental. Of course, everything is made from seasonal and local ingredients.”

Also new to Irene is a dedicated chef, who will prepare and sashimi and sushi in front of guests —Tuscan style, of course! After dinner, Irene’s inviting bar is the perfect place to sip and enjoy a refreshing digestif in a sophisticated atmosphere.

Named after Lord Charles Forte’s wife, Irene, the elegant, 1950s-style bistro is, according to Fulvio, “a celebration of women and the thousands of inextricable facets of the female universe”. Enjoy our warm hospitality and let us take you on a culinary journey through Tuscany.

Brussels and the Pursuit of Chocolate

Belgium does not apologise for its obsessions. In a country that has elevated brewing, architecture and surrealism to the level of national philosophy, chocolate occupies its own distinct place: something closer to culture than craft, as central to the country's identity as its quirky humour. To understand this is to understand Brussels itself.

The Curious Traveller’s Guide to Hidden Treasures

Often, the best adventures start with a question: what would happen if you followed a different thread? A story. A flavour. A sweep of colour. Three cities offer three very different kinds of treasure — the literary footsteps of a Nobel Prize winner in Mayfair, a sweet trail through Brussels, and the underground murals rewriting Munich. Our hotels are the starting points, what you discover is entirely up to you.

Milan on a Plate

Few cities have shaped Italy’s table quite like Milan. Arguably best known for its extraordinary fashion and design scene, the city’s culinary story is one less often told - though no less remarkable. It is one best read on a plate, through recipes handed down over centuries.
