Stay up to date with what’s on across Europe’s buzziest cities this autumn and into spring 2023

London
If your clients are interested in art then spread the word about Hallyu! The Korean at the Victoria and Albert museum (V&A) from Saturday 24th September 2022, which will be a deep dive into South Korean cinema, music, beauty and fashion. They can also catch Lynette Yiadom-Boakye’s Fly in League with the Night at Tate Britain from Thursday 24th November 2022 to Sunday 26th February 2023, which features 70 portraits of fictitious people.
Royalists meanwhile will want to visit Buckingham Palace for Platinum Jubilee: The Queen’s Accession to Sunday 2nd October 2022, which marks the 70th anniversary of the Queen taking to the throne. Highlights include portraits that inspired the Queen’s image on stamps until 1971 and a tiara given to Her Majesty as a wedding present.
Edinburgh
Royalists will also be lining up to see the Platinum Jubilee Display at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, which runs until Sunday 25th September 2022. Exhibits include outfits the Queen wore to celebrate her silver, golden and diamond jubilees, which include a pink silk dress, coat and hat.
Another kind of queen can be spotted at Festival Theatre from Saturday 19th November to Saturday 10th December 2022, as the Scottish Ballet will perform The Snow Queen.
Germany
Berlin
Berlin has a reputation for photography, so Hollywood at the Museum of Photography should be top of your clients’ list if they’re visiting before November 2022 – it’s a retrospective dedicated to Helmut Newton, who is best known for his Vogue shoots. Berlinische Galerie meanwhile is dedicating an exhibition to one of Newton’s contemporaries, Sibylle Bergemann, in a retrospective of her work spanning from the 1960s to 2010 which runs from Thursday 2nd June to October 2022.
As the days grow shorter, Festival of Lights will return to the capital from Monday 7th to Wednesday 16th October 2022, illuminating monuments, squares and streets.
Munich
Munich comes alive over Oktoberfest, which runs from Saturday 17th September to Monday 3rd October 2022. As well as beer tastings, the 187th edition will launch with a costumed parade and feature gun salutes and concerts. The city will also host Christmas markets from November 2022.
Italy
Rome
Late summer sees the end of an exhibition celebrating female architects such as Zaha Hadid at Maxxi – National Museum of 21st Century Art, which finishes on Sunday 11th September 2022.
Fans of Baroque architecture meanwhile can appreciate it while listening to Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons performed by the Quintet of Strings and Harpsichord of Opera and Lyric in the Caravita Oratory to Thursday 15th December 2022.
The American contemporary dance company, Parsons Dance, is also taking to the stage, performing at Teatro Olimpico from Tuesday 8th to Sunday 13th November 2022.
Florence
Florence is beautiful all year round, but especially so during a parade. On Wednesday 7th September 2022, the city will be illuminated with colourful paper lanterns during Rificolona Festival. Don’t miss the evening parade from Piazza Santa Felicita to Piazza della Santissima Annunziata.
Puglia
Oenophiles will want to mark their diaries with Festa te lu Mieru, a festival dedicated to wine, which will be held in Carpignano Salentino from Monday 5th September to Wednesday 7th September 2022.
Sicily
Foodies meanwhile can combine their love of food with free concerts at Cous Cous Festival in San Vito Lo Capo, which runs from Friday 16th September to Sunday 25th September 2022. International chefs compete to make the best couscous.
