Bike & Mushrooms

Join our “Bike & Mushrooms” experience for a unique blend of cycling and mushroom foraging in the stunning Valle d'Itria. Start your journey at our 15th-century masseria, cycling through trulli and olive groves. Once in the forest, continue on foot with a local mycologist to hunt for cardoncelli mushrooms. These foraged treasures will feature in a delicious meal at Masseria Torre Maizza, prepared with local ingredients at Ristorante Carosello, curated by Fulvio Pierangelini, Creative Director of Food at Rocco Forte Hotels.

Hot-Air Balloons

Glide above the undulating landscape in a hot-air balloon and admire breath-taking vistas of this extraordinary region. Enjoy a picturesque bird’seye view of Masseria Torre Maizza’s verdant grounds before disembarking moments from your room or suite. Combining adventure with romance flights can be arranged privately or with a group journeying. Fly over Matera enjoy an aperitivo at 20 metres above ground and admire views of the surrounding countryside whilst the balloon is anchored at Masseria Torre Maizza.

Polignano A Mare

Discover the striking cliff-top town of Polignano a Mare, known as the Amalfi of Puglia. The picturesque town is renowned for its stunning panoramic views, but don’t just admire it on land. Head to the town’s harbour and hop aboard a skiff to explore the sea caves hidden in the cliffs beneath the town, book a guide and learn about smugglers who used the caves to stash their contraband in years gone by. Back on
dry land, wander the town’s charming streets followed by a delicious seafood lunch. Leave a little room for dessert – Polignano a Mare is famous for its artisan gelato and our guide knows the best place in town.

From Savelletri To Monopoli by the Sea

Our complimentary boat trips departs from Savelletri and can accommodate up to 12 passengers. Admire the spectacular seascape en route before wandering through the picturesque, whitewashed city of Monopoli. On your way back, explore Caletta di Santo Stefano and enjoy a relaxing swim on one of the most popular stretches of the Adriatic coast.

A Guided Tour in Salento

Puglia is blessed with a beautiful landscape, rich history and abundant natural produce, and on this hike, guests are invited to experience all three first-hand. The walk begins near the important archaeological site of Santa Maria D’Agnano, where the skeletal remains of “Delia”, dating back 25,000 years, were found.
