It’s so important to talk to every family and get to know them so we can tailor their stay. For example, if they are looking for a truly authentic experience, we would propose a day spent with our U Canuscituri, a local insider who will take our guests to explore villages and local artisans that remain off the typical tourist path. Some of our guests have family ties to Sicily, and we are proud to offer an ‘ancestry concierge’ service, exploring their heritage. We once had an American family staying with us, whose distant relatives had lived on the island before emigrating. We uncovered a black-and-white photograph of the street they had lived on and where they were born. The family were incredibly grateful, and I remain in contact with them which is fantastic. For me, this is perhaps my favourite part of the role, being able to have a personal impact on our guests, to ensure every moment of their stay is memorable.
